Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account data — your email address and authentication credentials. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and we never see them in plain text.

Brand and workspace data — what you tell us during onboarding and afterwards: your niche, audience, goals, brand notes, uploaded documents, and any context you add.

Content you create — scripts, plans, captions, notes, and links to videos you have posted.

Reference data — publicly available information about videos we surface for you: captions, hashtags, view counts, thumbnails, and transcripts derived from the video’s audio.

Usage data — records of billable operations (which AI and scraping calls your workspace made, and what they cost) so we can meter usage and bill accurately.

Technical data — standard server logs generated when you use the service.

If you connect a TikTok account, we also receive the access tokens and account information you authorise at that time. We only request the permissions needed for the features you use.

Why we process it, and on what basis

• To provide the service — generating scripts, finding references, maintaining your workspace. Basis: performance of a contract.
• To meter and bill usage. Basis: performance of a contract, and our legitimate interest in running a sustainable service.
• To keep the service secure and working. Basis: legitimate interest.
• To comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your content to train our own AI models.

Who we share it with

Contently relies on the following processors. Your data is shared with them only to the extent needed to run the service:

Content you generate or provide may be sent to Anthropic and OpenAI to produce scripts and search your brand memory. Those providers process it on our instructions and do not use it to train their models under their business terms.

International transfers

Several providers are based outside the EEA. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent lawful transfer mechanism.

How long we keep it

We keep your workspace data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we must retain records for legal or accounting reasons. Usage and billing records are kept for seven years to meet tax obligations.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or UK you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, and receive a portable copy. You can exercise any of these by emailing johnwford2@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level database security to protect your data. Workspaces are isolated from one another. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the risk.

Cookies

Contently uses cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Children

Contently is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Where changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
